I was born in a Christian home, serving in a Baptist church near my house. Sharing the Gospel with my friends and family. But through all those years, God put in my heart a great love for people who live along the river.

When I was kid a couple of missionaries from U.S come to my church, to tell us about mission in the Amazon. I was so amazed with every word translated by a friend who could speak English. So, I prayed God to give me that skill, the ability to understand that language to help other missionaries in the Amazon. So, I started studying English by myself, reading books, listening to music and spending many hours reading the Portuguese/English dictionary.

But after all those years, I did not get an opportunity to go on a Mission trip. I started getting frustrated, because I thought that God wasn’t listening to my prayers about going on mission. But He was just preparing me to better serve Him and the people in the river.

So, seven years ago, praise God, I was finally invited to go on a mission trip, to serve as a translator. At that time I was already a photographer, working around the Amazon. And then, I decided to offer my gift as a translator and photographer to work for the Kingdom. So, a great opportunity was given to me four years ago by AMOR (Amazon Mission Organization). This was to serve using my images to show people all the work that has been done in the Amazon.

From that time on, I have been working as media missionary. Now I am involved with many projects along the river, such as The Bucket Ministry, that provides water filters, so that people can have clean water to drink and cook. I serve regularly, and do whatever I can to inspire those around me by sharing what God has shown me. I feel God calling me to join in a mission organization as a full time missionary.

It is a great opportunity for me and my family to serve those people who live along the Amazon river in the Amazon region.

Matthew 28:19 states “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” – I believe that God calls us to not just go to the nations and talk about Jesus, but to develop disciples so that they are equipped to share the Good News about Jesus and disciple others.
