A story one of our mission partners, Cody Burnett, shared from Sao Jose, Brazil:

“We met with an older gentleman named Mr. Juarez on one of our trips to Sao Jose. He was experiencing some health issues that required surgical intervention and was worried about it. But, when we showed him the filter presentation, his anxieties and worries faded away. Unprompted, he made the immediate connection between the filter and the cleansing power of Jesus Christ. Yet, what he was most excited about was sharing this filter and story with his family and community. He saw the positive impact that the bucket filter, when paired with the Gospel, could have for the people of Sao Jose. God impressed upon him the need for a church presence in Sao Jose and he is currently in the process of founding one right now!

Almost one year after our first meeting with Mr. Juarez, we met with him again and found that his filter had been perfectly maintained! It worked just as well as the day we gave it to him.

Today, Mr. Juarez is a close connection of ours to the people of Sao Jose and is instrumental in realizing #NoPlaceLeft’s vision of discipleship. It just goes to show you how important a ministry’s first impression on the people they serve is!” @the_missions_community
