El Kilometros 30
Campaign

Tucked away in the desert outskirts of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the communities known as Los Kilómetros (just 12 miles away from Texas), particularly around Kilómetro 30, represent some of the most forgotten people in the region. Life here is marked by deep poverty, isolation, and systemic neglect. Basic infrastructure like clean running water and proper drainage is virtually nonexistent. Families rely on unreliable government water deliveries that arrive only every 18 to 20 days- – if at all – and are forced to store the water in open roadside tanks that are rarely cleaned. With no safe storage methods, contamination is inevitable, leading to widespread waterborne illnesses, especially among children.

We are beginning our efforts in Los Kilómetros 30 specifically—a pocket of 362 homes and 1,473 individuals. These are people who often feel overlooked and forgotten. Many are dealing with broken marriages, rebellious teenagers, and the heavy discouragement that comes from years of empty promises by governments and organizations. Yet, beneath the dust and disappointment is a community longing for hope. When trust is earned, they are warm, open-hearted, and eager for genuine connection. A local church is standing by, ready to serve and love its neighbors, and we believe the water filter will be the bridge that opens doors to deeper spiritual relationships.

The Bucket Ministry believes that clean water is just the beginning. Through the gift of a water filter and the message of living hope, we can offer physical healing and spiritual transformation. The campaign to reach every home in Los Kilómetros 30 will take approximately 30 weeks and cost just $28,000. This is not just a call to give — it’s a call to restore dignity, build trust, and partner with God’s people to bring lasting change. Will you join us?
