Shadrack Ruto is the founder and lead pastor of Upendo Baptist Church, and the president of Shepherd Broom Tree Ministries. He is married to the love of his life, Elizabeth, and together they have five children, Mercy, Banessa, Sharon, Matthew, and Asher, and one granddaughter, Niylah. He attended Columbia International University and Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned a BA and ThM, respectively.
Shadrack has a passion for mission work–particularly preaching, teaching, and discipleship. He has served in India, Jamaica, Kenya, and the Philippines. He is currently a Board of Trustee Member of Kenya Christian Fellowship in America, Intercultural Advisory Council to Baptist General Convention of Texas, and a board member of The Bucket Ministry.

Shadrack’s favorite verse is Proverbs 3: 5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
