Pray – He Hears

August 19, 2020 | Categories: Blog, In the News

Over the next three weeks, our blog will be highlighting a different aspect of our engagement model: Pray, Give, Go. This phrase is a simple way to share the various manners of involvement. We invite you to join us as we dive into the way God has called us to this ministry and the ways you can be called as well.

Today’s focus will be on prayer.

1 John 5:14: “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

In the Old Testament, God instructed the creation of the tabernacle as the dwelling place of the Lord (Exodus 25). The high priest would enter the inner room once a year to approach God (Hebrews 9:7), but John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Jesus replaced the tabernacle in this way. Now, the Holy Spirit lives inside each one of God’s people, and we have a direct line to Him. We can approach Him at any time for anything, and He will hear us.

Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

The Bible instructs us on how to pray. The Lord’s Prayer gives us an outline of this and a prayer to pray when words feel lost. The verse above from Philippians encourages us to look to God in every situation. When uncertain: pray. When joyful: pray. When things are not going well: pray. When things are going well: pray! Prayer is a great gift given by the Lord.

1 Chronicles 16:11: “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”

On multiple occasions, we are encouraged to seek God and to draw near to Him. The Bucket Ministry seeks God in everything we do. His guidance is leading our ministry in ways we never thought possible.

Even in uncertain times like the ones we’re living in, we can draw near to God and know that He is listening. He is strengthening us through it all.

We ask that you pray the Lord’s prayer with us today:

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

The Bucket Ministry has a great prayer team that is constantly praying over the work of our ministry and anyone in need. The team prays for donors, in-field team members, mission trips, uncertain situations, and many more areas. If you want to be involved with the team, please visit the following link: https://thebucketministry.org/prayer-team/.

If you are reading this post, we are praying for you. Thank you for your support of this ministry.
